WILLIAM ASHLEY, of Barnwell Co., father of NATHANIEL, JOHN, CHARLES SAMUEL and a daughter who married a HIGHTOWER, died intestate in 1805. Administration records show wife ELIZABETH (HIGGINBOTTOM) ASHLEY administratrix. Inventory appraisal dated 1806, signed by JONATHAN ALDRIDGE and JOHN COCKERHAM gave an estate value of $1,539.00. The appraisors, as appointed by the court were: JEFEREE COWARD, JOB WEATHERSBEE, JOHN ARMSTRONG, and JONATHAN ALDRIDGE.
