Hello, My name is Kim Isham. I am
emailing in hopes that you could possibly be of some help to my family. I do not

feel lost because some family members believe we are Cheyenne and others believe
we are Cherokee. If you know of anyone that could help us, my family and I would

Arapaho
6-26-99
I am seeking more information on the four
stages or "hills of life". I am a member of the C&A Tribes of OK. I grew up
with very little knowledge of the Arapaho Way. I was taught the Arapaho had
Clans. The only one I know anything about is the Gourd Clan, which is made up of
elders. That is all I know of the Gourd Clan. If you could contribute
information on any/all of the clans, and any other Arapaho history it would be
greatly appreiated. As an Arapaho Indian I am very interested in learning about
my heritage. I would also be able to pass down this information to my children.
If you can assist me with this information or suggest other literature that
would help me learn more about the clans, please forward to Tim Mosqueda. Thank you very
much.

YELLOW WOLF
7-30-99
I am looking for information on a
CHeyenne by the name of YELLOW WOLF who fought at Little Big Horn as a youth,
lived some time after in or around Kansas, *not* to be confused with the
Cheyenne Chief Yellow Wolf killed in Chivington's attack on the Cheyenne. This
one survived to father a daughter, 'Emma' , who was taken by missionaries from
Kansas to NY in the 1890's. Emma was born in 1883. She married my grandfather
and the married name of LIGHT, I don't know what her Cheyenne name was. Not sure
of the name of my great grandmother, but think it was also two words with the
2nd the word for "Raven". Would appreciate any information any one can come up
with. Good site here and it is a real help. Please contact Jake Levi

BENT
8/24/99
Stephen McHattie, Kario Salem, and Christina
Raines played the lovable Pasquinel siblings: Jacques, Marcel and Lucinda in
James A. Michner's Centennial miniseries. Their characters were based on the
real life BENT siblings: Charley, George and I don't know the names of their
other sibs. I do know, however, that thier white father, William BENT, founded
BENT's Old Fort that's near La Junta, CO. I'm especially interested in Charley.
Any information at all, you can supply me with, will be most appreciated. Please

Arapaho
ADDISON
10-11-99
I am told by elderly relatives that my
g-grandfather's mother was a full blood Indian and his father was a runaway
slave. They arrived in Virginia after the Civil War (1880's) with 9 boys. His
father's name was Stephany ADDISON and his mother's name was Malvina. I have
searched among the lists for Cherokees and Creeks to no avail. I'm wondering if
his mother could have been Arapaho, as I have seen the name ADDISON among modern
day Arapahos, and his physical characteristics are suggestive of pictures I have
seen of the tribe. Any ideas? Thanx. Please contact Lynn Burnett

MARY LYLE WILLIAMS
10-23-99
My GGrandmother was born in
1859-60 possibly at or near Ft. Laramie, WY. My family said she was the daughter
or grand daughter of ROMAN NOSE, most likely granddaughter as she was 1/2
Cheyenne, 1/2 Lakota. The family story goes like this: As ROMAN NOSE and his
people were being chased so viciously and so many were being killed, ROMAN NOSE
sent some of the children to RED CLOUD (Lakota)at or near Ft. Laramie so there
would be some left to carry the Cheyenne Nation forward. These children married
people from the Lakota Nation. My GGrandmother was one of the children of these
marriages and was in the first group of children sent to boarding school, she
never returned to live in that area. All I have is my GGrandmother's white name,
MARY LYLE, she married a white man with the last name of WILLIAMS, lived the
rest of her life in NE Texas near Sulpher Springs. *Any* help would be
appreciated, possibly someone may have heard this or a similar story in the
ROMAN NOSE family? I first heard this story over 36 years ago. Thank you. Please
