...the humble petition of Mary Prince respectfully showeth that Abram Prince late of the district and State aforesaid died intestate on or about the fifth day of August Eighteen Hundred and fifty leaving no will that can be found but leaving a widow, your petitioner and seven children to wit- S L Prince about ten years old, Franklin about nine years old, Spencer about Eight years, Ken (or Ker) about seven, Marion about six, Andrew about five, Alexander H about two years, all minor children.


Your petitioner showeth that the said intestate left a small Estate Real and Personally consisting of a Negro two mules & two horses a lot of cattle & Hogs House Hold and Kitchen furniture and the present years crop the whole personall Estate Exceeding one Thousand Dollars...
